Transnational organization

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term transnational organizations generally includes all those transnational non-governmental forms of organization that are globally distributed over several countries (at least three) and that can produce goods ( material ) or provide services ( immaterial ) and thereby work independently of the government.

The first group refers in particular to the profit-oriented transnational or multinational corporations , while the second group mainly includes international non-governmental organizations such as Greenpeace or Amnesty International , but also organizational structures such as the Catholic Church .

In the process of globalization , transnational organizations are gaining increasing importance, as they can influence not only the national but also the international level of political decisions , which in a certain sense evades popular sovereignty .
