The Transparency and Publicity Act (long title: Act on the further reform of stock corporation and accounting law, on transparency and publicity , abbreviation: TransPuG) is an article law for the reform of stock corporation and accounting law . It came into force on July 26, 2002 and, according to the will of the legislature, is intended to represent a further step towards modern, Europe-compatible company law.

In German corporate law, especially stock corporation and accounting law, it has been criticized for some time that corporate decisions are too opaque. On the one hand, the attractiveness of Germany as a target for foreign investments and company participations suffers as a result, and on the other hand, the politically desired participation of broader sections of the population in productive assets is stagnating .

The aim of the law is - after a number of spectacular mishaps at the corporate management level - to increase the transparency of corporate management and supervision . To this end, the Transparency and Publicity Act changes the provisions of the Stock Corporation Act (AktG) and expands the disclosure requirements under the Commercial Code (HGB).
