The TRANSRADIO Berlin AG is now a subsidiary of AMPEGON. The company specialized in the research, development and construction of AM , VHF / FM and DRM transmitters, as well as commercial and military communication transmitters for long and long wave .
Historical
Telefunken Sendertechnik GmbH , which existed from 1989, was renamed Telefunken SenderSysteme Berlin AG in 2000 . From this, TRANSRADIO SenderSysteme Berlin AG emerged in 2005 . The history of the name "TRANSRADIO" can be traced back to 1918. With the introduction of duplex traffic in radio links in 1919, Transradio-Aktiengesellschaft for wireless overseas traffic gained worldwide recognition. The share capital of 1.5 million euros was increased in 2010 to 1.87 million euros. After capital price losses since 2007, the share will no longer be freely traded from 2013 onwards. Even further loans until 2015 and capital increases (1.8 million €) from the majority shareholder Bevita Commercial Corp., Vaduz could not save TRANSRADIO. Since August 1, 2017, TRANSRADIO SenderSysteme Berlin has been in insolvency proceedings due to overindebtedness and insolvency.
outlook
The Swiss AMPEGON Group directly acquired the TRAM and SCIAMP product lines together with production, the existing warehouse and a qualified core team from the bankruptcy estate. From this the AMPEGON subsidiary AM Broadcast GmbH was founded. AMPEGON is thus returning to production on the medium-wave transmitter market and taking over the service for the old customers of TRANSRADIO SenderSysteme Berlin AG in the sense of the previous cooperation. In the further course of the company headquarters of the newly founded AM Broadcast GmbH was relocated to Berlin. After completing the legal insolvency formalities, the legal entity TRANSRADIO SenderSysteme Berlin AG becomes a member of the AMPEGON Group. After that, AM Broadcast GmbH will finally be renamed AMPEGON. Since November 27, 2019, AM Broadcast GmbH has been notified of deletion in accordance with Section 394 of the FamFG (deletion of non-assets companies and cooperatives) at the commercial register in Berlin. At the end of the process, the historic name TRANSRADIO will finally disappear from the corporate world.
DRM business areas
TRANSRADIO SenderSysteme Berlin AG promoted the digitization of previously AM-dominated broadcasting areas. Almost all large medium and long wave transmitters have already been equipped with their "TRAM" transmitter models. They offer either AM or DRM operation. Nevertheless, at the turn of the year 2014/15 the medium and long wave transmitters of the Deutschlandradios equipped with TRAM technology and other retrofitted transmission systems were switched off. In the years before, many short and medium wave broadcasting services, including those from abroad, were finally discontinued.
The new owner AMPEGON has an active leadership role in the DRM consortium and is a founding member of the DRM standard. With the acquisition of the TRAM transmitter product line from TRANSRADIO SenderSysteme Berlin AG, AMPEGON will in future be able to offer DRM-capable transmitters from its own production.
