The Trattendorf Medal was an award from the Free German Youth (FDJ) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was awarded on April 29, 1959 on the occasion of the completion of the youth property of the Trattendorf power station . More than 100 youth brigades of the FDJ were involved in the construction of the power station, which was built in five years from 1954 to 1959. The rated output of the power plant was 450 kW in 1954. The medal was awarded for excellent work in setting up this youth building.

Appearance and wearing style

The medal has the shape of a half gear, which shows the power plant in the middle. The inscription: BAU DER JUGEND ( BAU DER JUGEND) and KRAFTWERKE / TRATTENDORF can be read on the lower part on a blue background . To the left of this is the symbol of the FDJ.
