Traufbachtal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Traufbachtal is a side valley of the Trettach valley . The Traufbach rises below the Krottenspitzen (2553 meters). The short Traufbachtal has a steep gradient and ends in the Traufbachtobel. To the north of Spielmannsau it flows into the Trettach valley. Of the Alps, Krautersalpe, Hierenalpe and Obergiebelalpe located there, only the Traufbachalpe is managed with around 130 young cattle . A driveway, closed to traffic, leads into the valley, which was built from 1968 to 1969 by the Kempten Water Management Authority to rehabilitate a dam in the Traufbach. A footpath through the ravine leads to the Traufbachtal. In 2011 the road was completely renovated by the Office for Rural Development with a 70 percent grant from the state for € 580,000 and provided with an asphalt surface.
