Travis Major (born February 18, 1990 ) is an Australian football player .

Career

Major played in the youth field for Blacktown City FC and moved up to the men's team for the 2010 season, which competes in the New South Wales Premier League . In his first season in the adult sector, he became national champion with the club. In 2014 he was again champion of New South Wales with Blacktown, in the 2-1 win over Sydney Olympic he scored the goal to 2-1 victory in extra time. In addition, a 6-2 final win over Manly United won the Waratah Cup , in which Major was also successful as a goalscorer. He received confirmation of his outstanding performance this season in the form of the Player of the Season award.

The versatile, goal-scoring and physically robust player signed a contract until the end of the season with the A-League club Central Coast Mariners , whose offensive had only scored 10 goals in 13 games this season. As early as September 2014, he was about to sign with the Mariners, but the move was delayed by a few months due to a groin injury. Major made his professional debut just a day after announcing his commitment when he came on as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Melbourne City . In the following months Major came to eight other league appearances by substitution, his only goal he scored in the 1: 5 defeat against Sydney FC . His contract was canceled shortly before the end of the season in April 2015 after a coach change ( Tony Walmsley succeeded Phil Moss ) and Major rejoined Blacktown.
