The Tribüne Linz (formerly Eisenhand-Theater ) is a free theater in Linz , Upper Austria . It is located in an inner courtyard on Weißenwolffstrasse, at the corner of Eisenhandstrasse, in the side wing of the Gasthaus zur Eisernen Hand .

history

The building used to be used by the brothers Ernst and Fritz Steiner's Eisenhand cinema, which opened in 1950 and, like most of the smaller cinemas, later had to close again. In 1998 the house was opened as the Eisenhand venue of the Linz State Theater with around 170 seats and was used to perform smaller speaking pieces and youth theater.

In 2013 the Eisenhand-Theater was closed in connection with the restructuring of the Landestheater through the opening of the music theater and taken over by a private association and run as the Linz - Theater am Südbahnhofmarkt grandstand . The theater offers a year-round repertoire with plays for adults and young people, for example by Friedrich Dürrenmatt , Johann Wolfgang Goethe and also contemporary authors. Well-known actors such as B. Eugen Victor perform here regularly.

The Linz grandstand is directed by Bernhard Mayer, Cornelia Metschitzer and Rudi Müllehner.
