Trim disc

A trim disc is an aid for regatta and touring sailors to achieve the maximum propulsion of a sailing ship . With a trim disc, only the wind and wave conditions are set. The correct settings for the bow and mainsail can then be read off the scale on the trim disc.

Conventional trimming disks are made of plastic or cardboard. The diameter is approx. 25–30 cm. As a rule, trim discs are made waterproof.

There are now also electronic trim discs, for example iTrim - an application for the iPhone or the iPod touch.
