The Trinitarian blessing is next to the Aaronic blessing the most frequently used blessing formula in the Christian churches . In the Catholic Church, it is given at Holy Mass before the call for dismissal , often at the end of a solemn blessing that can be given on certain days and on special occasions. When naming the persons of the Trinity , the celebrant makes the sign of the cross over the believers. They answer with Amen .
