Trinity Church

The old town center of Hilbersdorf, with the Katharinenkirche located there, built in the 16th century, was demolished from 1863 to 1866 in favor of the construction of the tracks for the Chemnitz – Flöha railway line . The Trinitatis Church, consecrated in 1866, was built on Frankenberger Strasse to replace the Katharinenkirche .

When this church was built in 1866, it received an altar block which is something special. It was made from Hilbersdorf porphyry tuff and clad with green-black serpentine stone slabs from the Waldheimer quarries. At first it was adorned with a large crucifix. When the church was expanded in 1930, it was replaced by a group of carved figures from the workshop of Peter Breuer in Zwickau , probably from 1518, which was found on the church floor and depicts the Descent from the Cross. It came from the old Katharinenkirche.

Cemetery chapel

The cemetery chapel or celebration hall was only built around 1870 in the classical style.

Garden monument churchyard and tombs

The churchyard is a spacious, terraced complex that extends up the slope behind the church. He has many old tombs, some of which are listed. The entire churchyard is a protected garden monument.

War memorial

The war memorial for the fallen of the First World War is a simple masonry monument with stylized flames on the front.
