Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry is the newest seminary of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America , which it says is firmly rooted in the Anglican tradition. Attached to the seminar is the Stanway Institute for World Mission and Evangelism, named after the first dean of the seminar.

The seminary was organized in 1976 by a group of Anglican Evangelical ministers and lay people, including James Innell Packer and John Stott, who helped formulate the seminary's creed. While the total number of students attending Episcopal Church seminars has decreased by a quarter in recent years, Trinity's student numbers have increased by 30% since the late 1990s.

The following degrees are offered:

  • Master of Divinity (MDiv)
  • Master of Arts (Religion) (MAR)
  • Master of Sacred Theology (STM)
  • Doctor of Ministry (DMin)
  • Diploma in Anglican Studies (DAS)
  • Diploma in Christian Ministry (DCM)
  • Diploma in Lutheran Studies (DLS)

Eight seminary graduates and two faculty members were elected Anglican bishops, including Mark J. Lawrence , the current bishop of the Diocese of South Carolina .

The seminary has been accredited by the Association of Theological Schools since 1985 .
