history

The old pump room around 1920

The old pump room is a wooden summer hall on the edge of the Quellenpark . The building dates from 1887 and was carried out on the initiative of Dr. H. Köhler, who was working as a well doctor in Bad Soden at the time. After his death in 1890, a memorial was erected in his honor, which was erected in the pump room as early as 1890. This has been in the Quellenpark since 1954.

The pump room opened in the direction of the spring park. It was 51 m long, 9 m wide, 7 m high and cost 27,000 marks. Inside the pump room, two springs emerged, springs I and III, which were the milk fountain and the warm fountain . These also took place outside the hall for the Soden population. There were also two figures inside. It was the representation of Hygeia and Sodenia.

In 1954 this wooden structure was demolished. The new building was opened in 1955 and is still standing today. During the construction of this, the source XIXb was found. Until the closure of the Kur GmbH, the water from the springs was served here. The outlet for this is now on Franzenbader Platz. Furthermore, after the dissolution, a dance school moved into the building. The whereabouts of the statues is also not known.
