Triplet
The term triplet (in cardiology : triplet in contrast to the couplet ) stands for a set of three parts and describes, among other things:
- a base triplet in genetics
- in quantum mechanics a state with a multiplicity of three, see multiplicity
- a bicycle with three seats, see tandem (bicycle)
- in optics a lens that consists of three lenses (especially the Cooke triplet ), see lens (optics)
- in cardiology, a volley of exactly three successive ventricular extrasystoles ; but orthography: triplet
