Triumph Competition & British GT
The Triumph Competition & British GT racing series is a historic motorsport event for British sports cars built between 1945 and 1981. It is organized and supported by the TR-Register Germany.
history
The racing series was founded in 1993 and ran its first season in 1994. The reason for this was the wish of many club members of the TR-Regeister Deutschland eV to be able to operate motorsport at a low cost with the historic vehicles of the Triumph (Auto) brand .
Technical regulations
The Triumph Competition & British GT has its own technical regulations with special regulations deviating from the historical Appendix K. The range of approved years of construction (1945 to 1981) is also significantly wider than in strictly historical motorsport. The reason for the wide range of years of construction is the product range of the Triumph brand , which disappeared from the market in the early 1980s. Other special features are limited tuning of vehicles over 3 liters displacement. This restriction enables closer competition between the displacement classes. On the other hand, the regulations offer to increase the reliability of the vehicles to a limited extent. The failure rate of participants in the racing events is therefore very low.
