Trowbridge Island

Trowbridge Island is an island in the South Shetland archipelago . It is located 3 km northwest of Cape Melville in the Destruction Bay of King George Island .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the sealer Lady Trowbridge under Captain Richard Sherratt (1774 - unknown) from Liverpool , who sank off Cape Melville on December 25, 1820.
