Troy (comic)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troy is a fictional world that the French author Scotch Arleston developed in 1994 for his comic series Lanfeust by Troy , which is located there and in which all subsequent series also play. The comics were drawn by Didier Tarquin , among others .

In this magical world, every resident has a special, sometimes useful, but often disruptive ability: some can create hunger, others make fires or make things fly. Teleportation or making hair grow are also known. All of these abilities go back to the Magohamoth, a mystical being whose magic affects all beings of Troy.

The individual series

Lanfeust from Troy

( Lanfeust de Troy ) The first 8-volume series from 1994 tells of the young Lanfeust, who can melt metal and consequently goes to the local blacksmith to apprentice. One day he is supposed to repair the broken blade of a sword that belongs to the inflated knight Blaugold. When he touches the ivory handle of the weapon, a burst of energy throws him into the crucible - but he survives unharmed. The sage Nicolas, father of Lanfeust's fiancé, recognizes him as one of those few who know how to use the true power of the Magohamoth. So the ivory must be part of its body. Lanfeust and Nicolas set out with his daughters C'ian and Cixi and the troll Hebus to find blue gold.

Troll of Troy

( Trolls de Troy ) The series, currently (2019) with 22 volumes, tells of Hebus' grandfather Teträm and his human daughter Waha, who grapple with the intrigues of the venerable sage von Eckmül and have to defend their little troll village again and again against external threats . Like all humans, Waha has a special ability - and hers is more special than most: It is a random ability that has a different effect every time. Sometimes only soap bubbles appear, other times there is a meteor shower .

Lanfeust of the stars

( Lanfeust des étoiles ) Lanfeust and Hebus witness the first landing of a spaceship on Troy. Emissaries of the Princes of Merrion, who formally own the homeworld of Lanfeust and his friends, see the young hero and his archenemy Thanos as the culmination of an evolutionary experiment they started eons ago with the help of the Magohamoth. In the 8-volume series Lanfeust, Hebus, Cixi and Thanos travel to the stars and, after many fights and trials, reveal the secret of Troy.

Lanfeust Odyssey

( Lanfeust Odyssey ) After their star adventures, Lanfeust and Hebus return to Troy, where time has passed much faster than in space. Together with old friends from Troy's Lanfeust series, such as the sage Nicolas, new threats to peace on Troy must be fought in a total of ten volumes.

The gnomes of Troy

( Gnomes de Troy ) In this not entirely serious prequel , small stories from the childhood of Lanfeust and his friends are told. There are repeated references to later experiences of the heroes.

The conquest of Troy

( Conquérants de Troy ) The series tells the story of the siblings Iana and Foibos, who were abducted from their home planet by the transplanetary flower consortium to serve as settlers on Troy and thus guinea pigs for the magic experiments of the consortium.

The legends of Troy

( Les Légend de Troy ) In this series Arleston tells different stories with the help of many different artists.
