Truckin 'on New Tracks is the fourth album by the German country band Truck Stop and was released in 1976 via Telefunken . It is also the last album with exclusively English songs.
background
The album was produced in 1976 in Studio Maschen ( Harburg district ) by Joe Menke (including Les Humphries Singers ). The sound engineer was Volker Heintzen. It is the second and last album on which Michael Reinecke was a permanent member of the band. Werner Becker can be heard on the album as a guest at the piano .
Like its predecessors, the album consists exclusively of English-language songs, but this time mostly original compositions. The only cover songs are Is Anybody Goin 'to San Antone by Dave Kirby , the Traditional Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms and I Take a Lot of Pride in What I Am by Merle Haggard .
As singles were Anybody Goin 'to San Antone with the B-side of Highway 59 and Uh, Gee ( B-side: You'll Find the Way) decoupled .
The album sold so badly that the band got into a real crisis. Eckart Hofmann consequently left the band and Michael Reinecke also ended his guest appearance, but stayed with the band as a sound engineer. It was only through the financial failure that the idea of recording rock pieces in German came about.
