Michael Reinecke

Michael Reinecke (born August 20, 1950 in Lübeck ) is a German pop composer , musician, singer and music producer . He is not identical to the singer Michy Reincke .

Career

Michael Reinecke grew up in Lübeck and graduated from Carl-Jacob-Burckhardt-Gymnasium in 1970 . As early as 1969 he released the single Belief in it (first original composition, text: Joe Menke ) on Decca Records . In the period that followed, Reinecke became a sought-after background singer and studio guitarist. In the mid-1970s he made several tours as a chorus with Vicky Leandros and the James Last Orchestra. With the latter he performed in London at the Royal Albert Hall. In 1972 Les Humphries took over the title Take Care of Me, composed by Reinecke, into his repertoire.

In 1973 he produced the Truck Stop group together with publisher Joe Menke (Studio Maschen) . Shortly afterwards he also became a member of the group as a guitarist and singer, he left them again in 1976.

In 1978 he produced the pop group Sunrise and their hit Call on me (Harders / Kopp) on behalf of Peer-Music . He was a member of this formation from the beginning and also wrote some titles for them.

From 1981 to 1987 Reinecke produced the artist Volker Lechtenbrink (five LPs) for the Metronome company . During this collaboration, the title I like was created , which was already a great success in the original. The version recorded by Rolf (Zuckowski) and his friends ... and really me! surpassed this, however, and was made possible by an appearance on Wetten, dass ..? a milestone in Zuckowski's career. During a performance at the Rathausmarkt in Hamburg, where Reinecke himself played guitar, the audience wrote about 800 new verses over the course of four hours, which Zuckowski collected and later published. In 1983 it was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the "longest song in the world".

In the same year the song Rücksicht (text: Volker Lechtenbrink) composed by him by the duo Hoffmann & Hoffmann came in fifth at the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 in Munich. Mary Roos came in 13th at the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 in Luxembourg with Reinecke's composition Aufrecht geht'n with the text by Michael Kunze . This year he also took second place in the preliminary decision with the title Liebe ist ... sung by Bernhard Brink (text: Erich Offierowski).

For an episode of the crime series Ein Fall für Zwei , in which Lechtenbrink played a leading role, Reinecke wrote the title song Irgendwann , as well as the suspense music for this episode together with the composer Birger Heymann .

In the early 1990s he worked with Rudolf Müssig and Christoph Leis-Bendorff on several albums for the Austrian cult band Die Schürzenjäger , this time as a choir singer, studio guitarist, arranger and co-producer.

From 1996 to 2011 he was the exclusive producer of Mary Roos together with Alexander Menke. During this time, Reinecke also discovered writing for himself. Over 70 titles were created, including a. Once around the world , far, far away , my son , too good to be true , don't look around . He also composed for other artists such as B. Nino de Angelo , Bernd Clüver , Roland Kaiser and Roberto Blanco . He composed a number of pieces for the Schleswig-Holstein folk music group Speelwark , which he briefly produced again together with Alexander Menke.

Reinecke composed the music for the successful 52-part children's television series Neues vom Süderhof , which was produced between 1991 and 1997. The title song was by Rolf Zuckowski.

In 1998 he took part in the ballad competition of the Paul Woitschach Foundation of the German Composers' Association and came third with his own composition Three Words, which he performed himself at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater.

In the collecting society GEMA , Michael Reinecke represents the interests of the composers in the committee for the evaluation procedure in entertainment and dance music.
