Michael "Michy" Reincke (born October 3, 1959 in Hamburg ) is a German pop singer and musician . He lives in Hamburg-Uhlenhorst and has been in his adopted home of Andalusia for several years .

Career

As a 16-year-old Michy Reincke traveled through Europe and played songs by his idol Bob Dylan in the pedestrian zones . He studied German , English and psychology . In 1984 he founded the band Felix De Luxe , for which he a. a. whose most famous pieces Taxi to Paris and Nights over the Ice composed, wrote and sang.

After separating from Felix de Luxe in 1988, Reincke continued to write and regularly released albums as a solo artist. His first solo success Valérie, Valérie from the album Paris (1991), stayed in the top 50 of the airplay charts for a whole year. In 1992 Reincke was the first musician to record a German version of a Prince title; his version I am not your man is based on the song I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man from the album Sign "☮" the Times . Reincke then released the albums Rintintin (1992), Das böse Glück (1993), Tonstrom (1999), Seeler (2002), Album (2003) and Make your heart loud (2004).

This was followed by the albums Jetzt ist schön (2009) and Palais Salam (2010). In 2011, the album The Name Doesn't Seem familiar was released , the first work in a trilogy, which he himself described as a statement and which not only earned him a lot of media attention and praise .

In 2014, the second part of the trilogy appeared with Didn't I ask you to wait in the car . The album You've Got the Wrong One , released in June 2016, completed the series. As with the two predecessors, the artist's face cannot be seen here either; he stands with bowed head and hat in a barren landscape in front of a lake. The Hamburger Abendblatt called Michy Reincke the "Clint Eastwood von Barmbek-Süd".

Reincke founded the music publisher and the Hamburg-based music label RINTINTIN Musik and leveled u. a. Artists like Katharina Vogel , Anna Depenbusch , Wolfgang Müller , the world music award winners Fjarill , Regy Clasen and Der Fall Böse paved the way for the music business.

As a producer and music publisher, he was committed to the artist Stefan Gwildis (with whom he has been close friends since school) and is also known as the writer of his chart albums. He was also involved in The Land and The Strombolis and has written and produced music for theater (including Fracasse ) and film (including The Dead Diver in the Forest ). He published the early works of Heinz Strunk , who played the saxophone in his band from 1989 to 2001 .

Reincke is committed to the next generation of musicians and an improved position for German-language pop music. Together with Yvonne Paulien and Hasko Witte, he organizes and presents the Lausch Lounge event series on a voluntary basis . The first Lausch Lounge took place in Hamburg in 2004, and since then the Lausch Lounge has been at regular intervals in various event venues in Northern Germany. The aim was and is to shed light on the diversity and quality of the Hamburg and North German music scene beyond quantity and chart successes and to encourage the audience to think outside the box. The event is moderated by himself. Here Annett Louisan had her very first appearance in front of an audience. In addition, artists such as Olli Schulz , BOY , Gisbert zu Knyphausen , Nils Koprauch , Alin Coen , Pohlmann , Niels Frevert , Cäthe , Graziella Schazad , Pascal Finkenauer and Johannes Oerding have already been guests in the Lausch Lounge . All income from the events will be shared among the participating artists.
