Stefan Gwildis (born October 22, 1958 in Hamburg ) is a German musician .

Life

Stefan Gwildis was born the son of a tire dealer and a hat maker. After doing his first singing exercises as a child at home, he completed an apprenticeship in fencing and stunt scenes at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg in 1979 .

In 1982 he founded the music duo Aprillfrisch together with Rolf Claussen . He trained his musical skills in seminars and was often on the road as a street musician. On the side, he earned his living doing odd jobs as a warehouse worker, truck driver, tanning bed operator and Santa Claus.

In 1984 Stefan Gwildis appeared in tent theater with the cabaret Herrchens Frauchen . In 1988, Aprillfrisch merged with Andrea Bongers, Jo Jacobs and Ralf Schwarz to become Aprillfrisch-MäGäDäm-Schwarz . Together they produced their first musical Wuttke II - in the ass of the world in the Schmidt Theater . Vanessa V followed in 1991 , in 1994 at the top and in 1999 a “Best Of” program. From 1992 to 1995 Gwildis was singer and guitarist with the "Strombolis" until 1998 when he founded his own band called "Stefan Gwildis & the Drückerkolonne". Her first album Komm's zu nix was released in 2000, and in 2002 the CD Wajakla was released.

In 2003 Stefan Gwildis started a new project with his German reworking of soul classics. The result was the album Neues Spiel , which quickly found nationwide recognition. Many television and concert appearances helped him to break through. The album stayed in the album charts for 13 weeks, Gwildis was awarded the Golden Tuning Fork as “Newcomer of the Year” , and from appearances in small clubs he moved to large concert halls and music halls, which are often sold out.

In February 2005, the new album was released, Nur because of you , which seamlessly continued the success of Neues Spiel . On March 12, 2005 Stefan Gwildis entered the German qualifying for the Eurovision Song Contest Germany 12 Points with the song Wunderschönes Grau ! on.

His album Heut ist der Tag was released in January 2007 and reached number 2 in the German album charts on February 5, 2007.

In his musical projects, Stefan Gwildis works closely with his former schoolmate Michy Reincke , who contributed the lyrics for his album releases, and with Christian von Richthofen in the rhythm'n'crash show “Auto Auto!”. Musicians like Marion Welch, Regy Clasen , Matthias Kloppe , Mirko Michalzik and Achim Rafain regularly support him in the studio and on stage . He is also known for performing together with the inclusive sign choir HandsUp , with which he a. a. was seen in the Helene Fischer Show 2018. In 2018 Stefan Gwilidis toured with Julia Neigel and the Lumberjack Big Band .

In the Tatort Schwelbrand (first broadcast: January 21, 2007) by Radio Bremen , Stefan Gwildis plays himself as a musician who appears as an artist in a concert against right-wing extremist violence. Stefan Gwildis is outed by Tatort Commissioner Inga Lürsen ( Sabine Postel ) as accidentally arrested at a Brokdorf demonstration.

Social engagement

Stefan Gwildis is involved in the victim support organization Weißer Ring . On July 7th, 2007 he performed in Hamburg at Al Gores Live Earth against global warming .

Private

Gwildis has a son.

In 2012 the album Ich bin by Heinz Rudolf Kunze was released with a duet title with Stefan Gwildis.

Stefan Gwildis is still unable to read sheet music and has therefore "always remembered" music.

In Who knows something? Broadcast, which was broadcast on ARD for the first time on December 4, 2018 , he took part in the Elton team.
