Carina Prange described his debut album as a special “mixture of German lyrics, melancholy in the language and daring personal honesty” as the outstanding release of the early summer of 2008 . He goes “sparingly” to work with his songs, which does not detract from the stories, which are orchestrated with a guitar and now and then cello and with strange text, and which he has to tell. Zu Knyphausen wrote poetry in the diction of the past century and still appeals to a very young clientele. In some moments the album is reminiscent of Sven Regener's work . The " Orpheus with guitar" takes on " Weltschmerz " while maintaining "an attitude that makes him believe in tomorrow".
