Moritz Krämer (* 1980 in Basel ) is a German musician and director from Berlin-Kreuzberg .

Life

Krämer was born in Switzerland and grew up in the Black Forest . After graduating from high school in Freiburg , he moved to Berlin . He completed a degree in video and text at the Berlin University of the Arts and studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin . Starting in 2005, he made several music videos and short films during his studies. His first film was the short film Tsuri Tsumi , others include Die Krux (2006), The Last Silver- Belly Carp (2009), Promised (2010) or Bonsai (2011). His first feature film, Bube Stur , premiered at the 65th Berlinale in the section “Perspektive Deutsches Kino”.

Krämer also worked in Berlin as a composer, songwriter and musical director at various theaters, including the Volksbühne , Hebbel am Ufer , the Maxim-Gorki-Theater or the Thalia-Theater , as well as at the Heidelberg City Theater . In 2009 he was the main actor in the recital Night of the Nerds at the Centraltheater in Leipzig .

On November 2, 2008, Krämer was together with the band Virginia Jetzt! guest on the TV show TV Noir , where he presented some of his songs live in what was then Café Edelweiß . In 2010 he won the TV Noir Rocket Award . Since 2009 he has made the album Fallucht with 14 of his tracks available for free download. On August 1st, 2010 the EP Ich kann nix für , which contains some acoustically recorded songs, was released. In 2010 he played in the opening act on Gisbert zu Knyphausen's tour , who occasionally covered Krämer's title Roommate during his appearances . Krämer released his first album Wir kann nix für das Hamburg-based record label Wallpaper Records , it was released on March 4th, 2011 and also contains new recordings of some of the songs already on the previously released EP.

Since 2011, Krämer has performed together with Francesco Wilking , the singer of the band Tele , Max Schröder and Felix Weigt under the name Die Höchste Eisenbahn . At the beginning of the band they accompanied guest musicians such as Judith Holofernes and Gisbert zu Knyphausen .

On February 1, 2019, Krämer's double album "I signed a contract 1 & 2" was released.

Krämer's music is characterized in particular by a melancholy mood, which is created by Krämer's fragile voice and the profound texts about everyday things.
