HANS - The Hamburg Music Prize
HANS - The Hamburg Music Prize is a German music prize that has been awarded by the Hamburger Musikwirtschaft e. V. (IHM) is awarded.
General
According to the organizer, the name HANS stands for "Hamburg, Hansestadt, HANSeatisch and also Hans Albers " . The prize has been awarded annually to Hamburg artists or to people who work for a Hamburg artist since 2009 . The media partner is the NDR , while the main sponsor is the Hamburger Volksbank .
Awards ceremonies
The first awarding of the HANS took place on September 24, 2009 as part of the 13th meeting of the Hamburg music industry and the fourth edition of the Reeperbahn Festival in Gruenspan in Hamburg . The prizes, which were awarded in three categories, were designed by the Hamburg musician and artist Nils Kopagh . The laudators included a. Olli Schulz and Jan Delay .
Also in 2010 the award ceremony took place in Gruenspan . The number of prizes has been increased to eight. There were now four nominees in each of the categories, from which a jury consisting of 15 representatives from various areas of the Hamburg music industry chose the winner. The 2010 jury included a. Peter Urban and Matthias Arfmann .
On November 22nd, 2011 the third HANS award ceremony took place in Gruenspan. The 2011 jury included a. Dirk Darmstaedter . In 2012, the award ceremony, moderated by Das Bo and Johanna Leuschen, took place on November 26th.
The fifth edition of the HANS took place on November 27, 2013 in the Mojo Club on the Reeperbahn. The event was moderated by Götz Bühler . The prize for the best song of the year was awarded for the first time, but the prize for the best label was dropped.
On November 26, 2014, the HANS was awarded in the Hamburg market hall. As in 2013, the event was moderated by Götz Bühler. Some new representatives from the media industry sat in the jury. These included, for example, Christoph Becker (Studio Bass HH / Constantin Musik), Eric Burton (Heartbeat Promotion / Schubert Music Publishing GmbH / Schubert Music Agency GmbH), Sven Bünger (musician and producer), Max Domma (Reeperbahn Festival), Oliver Frank ( Artist management), Norbert Grundei (N-JOY program director) and a few more.
The ceremony for the award of the HANS took place again the following year in the market hall in Hamburg. On November 24, 2015, Lukas Nimscheck hosted the evening.
There was no award ceremony in 2018. A relaunch under a new name and with a new program is planned for the 10th anniversary of the music prize in 2019.
