Haiyti (* 1993 in Hamburg , real name: Ronja Zschoche ) is a German rapper from Hamburg. Before that she performed under the changing pseudonyms Miami , Robbery and Ovadoze .

Life

Ronja Zschoche grew up in precarious circumstances in the Hamburg districts of Langenhorn and St. Pauli . Her mother was a single parent and initially worked as a taxi driver and later as a teacher at a music school. Her father was from Croatia . As a teenager she came into contact with the hip-hop scene and made her first attempts as a rapper. Her first influences were the underground rappers GPC , 4.9.0 Friedhof Chiller and One Take One Hit . There are also influences from Southern Rap like Three 6 Mafia and Gucci Mane . At first she was active under the name Miami, quickly switched to Rendezvous, Ovadoze and Robbery, among others, and then called herself Haiyti. In 2015 her first album Havarie was released by herself, but it flopped. With the YouTube video scene district , she achieved a respectable success.

The free Mixtape City tariff appeared in early 2016 . Features on the albums and mixtapes of YSL Know Plug , The Coup ( Xatar and Haftbefehl ), LGoony , Juicy Gay and Frauenarzt followed . This was followed by the EP Toxic together with the collective KitschKrieg. At the end of 2016, the mixtape Nightliner was released , which quickly made her known in the mainstream media.

The hip-hop magazine Juice chose the single Ein Messer at number 5 and the Mixtape City tariff at number 4 in their 2016 annual charts.

In October 2017, Haiyti and the Universal Music Group signed a contract. Her album Montenegro Zero was released on January 12, 2018 and reached number 25 in the German charts, which is Haiyti's first chart position.

On June 7, 2019, she released her third studio album, Perroquet . Her video for the track Coco Chanel was released on June 16, 2019 . The location was, among other things, the Ibiza villa, in which the video with the former FPÖ boss and Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache , which led to the Austrian state crisis, was secretly recorded in 2017 . The directors were the artist Paul Spengemann and the filmmaker Steffen Goldkamp , who, like Haiyti, studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts .

In April 2020, Haiyti released the single Photoshoot , whose Beat, produced by Project X, was compared by the web radio station ByteFM with trap music from Atlanta . The rapper produced the video herself. The corresponding fourth studio album, Sui Sui , was released on July 3, 2020 and reached number 34 in the German charts.

Haiyti combines frequently AsadJohn and Lex Lugner produced beats having to gangsta rap reminiscent texts. However, she has little fear of contact with other genres. So she released an EP together with Kitschkrieg, which she claims is reminiscent of " Emo Rap ". She makes her music popular through social media channels such as YouTube, Twitter , Facebook and Snapchat, among others . In doing so, she often works very quickly and places little value on subtleties. She publishes shaky smartphone videos and audio snippets and sometimes writes her songs within a few minutes. As a distinctive Adlib , she often uses “Uaargh!” A kind of choking sound.

Daniel Haas ( Zeit online ) compared her rap style and her voice with a mixture of Nina Hagen , Falco and arrest warrant , her appearance with a mixture of a French film star from the 1970s and a Luden from the neighborhood. Johann Voigt wrote of "the most productive and best German rapper" in the magazine now , "Haiyti sings, croaks, cries and reaches with its manipulated effects voice frequency ranges that make it so far was rarely in songs. Her songs draw images of the gutter, of rancid bars, mountains of white powder, knives tattooed on the chest. But she also talks about glamor, the beach and artsy parties in her songs.
