LGoony (* in Cologne ; also known as Luis Lone ; real name: Ludwig Langer) is a German rapper .

biography

LGoony grew up in Cologne and began rapping while still at school. In 2012 he took part in the video battle tournament (VBT) under his previous pseudonym, Luis Lone . He still raps under this pseudonym today (as of 2020). He participated in the Swag Mob Medley # 1 and # 3 in 2013 under the pseudonym Ludweezy . The "Swag Mob" was primarily a private Facebook group that was initiated by the then successful rapper Money Boy 2012 and in which his fans gathered inspiration for their own publications (see also Hustensaft Jüngling ). At the end of 2014 LGoony released his first mixtape Space Tape Vol. 1: Goonyverse .

In 2015, attention rose to the young artist, who released his mixtape Grape Tape in September , which includes features with Casper and Money Boy. Grape Tape was voted number 8 of the best albums nationally in 2015 by Juice magazine . LGoony 's single Füchse 2015 , recorded together with Zugezogen Masculin , was a cover version of the track Füchse , released in 1998 on the album Bambule by Absolute Beginners and Samy Deluxe , and was voted number 4 of the best singles in 2015 by Juice magazine. The video for million euros has over 2,500,000 views on the YouTube video platform . ( As of September 2018 )

On January 19, 2016, LGoony released the album Aurora together with the Austrian rapper Crack Ignaz , which can be downloaded for free from the Internet. In July 2016 he released the album Schreie aus dem Keller as part of the Uzi Mob . On December 23, 2016, he published the mixtape Intergalactica , which is available as a free download, but was also sold once in a pop-up store in Cologne. On November 24th 2017 the EP New Level was released together with Soufian and Crack Ignaz. On 13 December 2017, the three rappers as took Team New Level at the Red Bull Soundclash in part.

With the release of the music video for the single Zeit , LGoony announced its second studio album Lightcore on January 10, 2019 , which was released on January 25. On the album KIOX by Felix Kummer , released on October 10, 2019, LGoony is featured as a feature guest together with the Viennese rapper KeKe on the song "Aberno". On April 24th, 2020 LGoony released its new mixtape Frost Forever .

LGoony has distanced itself from the German rap scene and rarely gives interviews.

Style and Influences

LGoony's music can best be assigned to cloud rap , he himself describes it as "electronic lightcore". He is inspired by American rappers Young Thug , Lil B, Gucci Mane and Three 6 Mafia , among others . He used to listen to Pink Floyd and the Beatles too .
