criticism

The e-zine Laut.de rated Grape Tape with four out of a possible five points. From the point of view of the editor Philipp Kopka, LGoony “consistently adheres to its vision that cloud rap also works in German”. Grape Tape was true to the "strengths that made its debut a long-runner". These are the "superhuman talent for catchy hooks paired with flow variations between aloof autotune abundance and technically adept presentation". LGoony positions itself with "surprisingly clear announcements in the direction of colleagues, the media and actually the whole scene [...] as an outsider". Thus, the rapper with the grape tape will "continue to offend mainly long-established real keepers".

Florian Peking from MZEE describes the work of LGoony as a “little gem”. He emphasizes "the easily accessible, round sound and the witty lyrics". In his opinion, the artist has "found his own niche, which he can optimally fill".

Leaderboard

In the list of the best “Hip Hop Albums of the Year” 2015 by Laut.de, Grape Tape was placed 10th. LGoony entertains and / or fascinates with its album "including Azad- inspired cover artwork [...] a not too scarce part of the in-house rap workforce". Whether the album will be long-lasting will "show at the earliest in the coming year".
