Cäthe (born November 21, 1982 in Staßfurt ; bourgeois Catharina Sieland ), spelling CÄTHE , is a German songwriter and singer .

Live and act

When Catharina Sieland, the daughter of a blacksmith, was seven years old, she and her parents and brother left the former GDR for Aalen in Baden-Württemberg shortly after the fall of the Wall . When she was twelve she got her first guitar. Fourteen-year-old Catharina gave her first concert in a pub called Bobby Brown.

She learned at the vocational school for music in Dinkelsbühl . With part-time jobs such as selling crepes, bar jobs or as Santa Claus at flea markets, her route took her via Mannheim to Hamburg. There she completed a multi-week pop course at a university and moved entirely to the Hanseatic city in 2005.

In 2011 she founded a four-piece backing band. Your self-written German texts often have an autobiographical reference. She gained greater fame through her appearance on Inas Nacht on October 8, 2011. From her appearance, her song Ding was published along with nine other guest appearances on the bonus CD Inas kleine Nachtmusik with Ina Müller's album Ich bin die . In 2013 and 2015 she could be seen again at Inas Nacht. Appearances with Harald Schmidt and in the ZDF morning magazine followed .

On September 30th, 2011 her first album Ich muss nothing at all was released by DEAG Music . The album reached number 56 in the German album charts. On May 24, 2012, Cäthe received the German music author award from GEMA in the rock category. In 2013 she won the Fred Jay Prize for German-language songwriters. On September 11th and 12th, 2013 she was a guest at the MTV Unplugged Project of the Scorpions in Athens and sang the song In Trance with Klaus Meine .

She was also one of the four jury members in the KiKa casting show Dein Song in 2016 .

After a two-year break, Cäthe made her (stage) comeback on a concert tour in 2019 with her friend, singer Magdalena Ganter (born 1986) and her band “Mockemalör”; She is also a guest interpreter in Ganter's studio recording and in the music video for the song Nullpunkt , with which she appeared in the ZDF morning magazine in early 2018.
