Dawid Tomaszewski
Dawid Tomaszewski (born November 21, 1979 in Gdansk , Poland ) is a Polish-German fashion designer and designer . He is the founder of the fashion label of the same name, which has existed since 2009 and is based in Berlin. The designer draws inspiration for his designs from art, architecture and music. His collections are regularly published in magazines such as Vogue , Interview , L'Officiel , Elle , Bazaar , InStyle and Vanity Fair . Every season he takes part in various fashion weeks.
Life
Tomaszewski is a graduate of the London College of Fashion (1999–2001) and the Academy of Arts Berlin under Vivienne Westwood (2001–2004), specializing in fashion design. He then completed his studies in art history at the Art School in Poznan (2004–2005). In 2000 he worked for Sonia Rykiel and in 2003 for Alexis Mabille .
In 2008 he took part in a competition. In the same year he created a special collection for Reebok . He was one of the designers who created bags for Design Hotels that were presented at London Fashion Week . He also designed a charity t-shirt for Hallhuber . A year later he won the Young Designer Award , which is given to promising young designers. In the same year he began working with Comme des Garçons in Tokyo, where he was Rei Kawakubo's design assistant .
After returning from Tokyo, he founded his own label in 2009. Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair and other magazines reported on his first collection. Since then he has regularly presented his new collections, such as at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. Celebrities like Iris Berben , Bettina Zimmermann , Ursula Karven , Marie Bäumer , Valerie Niehaus , Karolina Kurkova and many more wear his new couture.
The S / S collection Torques Elipses, which was presented at the Berlin Fashion Week in 2011, made it famous.

Personal
Tomaszewski is one of the protégés of VOGUE editor-in-chief Christiane Arp , who has accepted him into the circle of representatives of her Vogue salon . In 2011 he was guest of honor at the Złota Kredka competition , Łódź . In 2014 he was a member of the jury of the sixth edition of the Fashion Designer Awards , Warsaw .
