The London College of Fashion ( LCF ) is, like the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design , a renowned college of the University of the Arts London . It offers basic and construction -Studiengänge in fashion design and related arts and is the only college in the UK, the training, research and consulting firm serving the fashion industry.

history

The college was created through the merger of the Shoreditch Technical Institute Girls School and the Bartlett St and Clapham Trade School, founded in 1906 by London County Council to train young women to be seamstresses , plasterers , hairdressers and embroidery .

The current rector is Dr. Frances Corner. Her predecessor, Sandra Holtby, was awarded the OBE in 2006.

The main building on John Prince's Street is in central London, close to Oxford Street . Classes in photography and marketing take place in the building on Davies Street, near Bond Street . The house at Lime Grove houses special equipment for instruction in knitting , embroidery and pattern making. There are three buildings for shoemaking and elementary courses in East London . A handicraft center is located in the Barbican Center .
