The Pforzheimer Hütte , also called Adolf-Witzenmann-Haus , is an Alpine Club hut of the Pforzheim section of the German Alpine Club at 2308  m above sea level. A. Höhe in the Gleirschtal in the Stubai Alps near the village of St. Sigmund im Sellrain .

history

The hut was inaugurated on September 5, 1926 after two years of construction for 126,000.00 RM (Reichsmark) = 35,000.00 € as the New Pforzheimer Hütte . In 1968 the hut was expanded with a new toilet facility with washrooms and an extension for the heating system and a winter room. Warm air heating with an oil stove was also installed. Until then, the hut was only heated with wood and coal in summer and winter. The winter room was open all year round. Costs: 1.455.562.00 ÖS = 225.512.00 DM = 115.175.00 € In order to improve the supply of the hut, a valley and mountain station was built in 1974 and a 620-meter-long material cable car from Gleirschbach to the hut was installed. This made it possible to drive an all-terrain vehicle up to 2,133 m and to transport goods, drinks and other materials to the Pforzheimer Hütte (2,308 m) in containers of 250 kg. Costs: 550,000.00 ÖS = 85,000.00 DM = 43,500.00 € Up until 1984, electricity was generated at the Neue Pforzheimer Hütte using a diesel generator. Approx. 35 kW electrical power was generated from 100 kW engine power. Efficiency approx. 30%. With the construction of a hydropower plant in 1984, hydropower generated 35 kW of electricity in the summer and gas was used for cooking in the winter and the diesel generator set temporarily supplied electricity. In the years 1992 to 1994 an extension was built to meet the official requirements. A new kitchen, washrooms with toilets for women and men, a tenant apartment and a staff room were housed in the extension. A storage cellar and utility room were also set up. A three-chamber sewage treatment plant rounded off the construction project. Costs: 7,385,300.00 ÖS = 1,145,000.00 DM = 585,000.00 €. In the years 2012 to 2016 the hut was modernized in all areas of the building technology. A new energy and electrical system installed, a new hot water heating system with a new drinking water distribution system installed. All sleeping areas modernized and renovated. A sewage treatment plant with a fat separator and biological clarification rounded off the construction work. Electricity generation in winter was converted to a combined heat and power unit (BHKW) operated with local vegetable oil. The efficiency is 96%. The power generation was supplemented by a photovoltaic system with 12 kW. A large buffer battery ensures the power supply throughout the day in summer and winter operation. The kitchen has been supplemented with professional cooking appliances and kitchen equipment made of stainless steel. The Berghaus is also integrated into the Internet via a satellite system and guests can log into the Internet via WLAN. New fire doors and a fire alarm system ensure that the requirements for a mountain hut in the 21st century are met. In 2012 the name was changed to "Pforzheimer Hütte" and in 2016 the Pforzheimer Hütte was awarded the environmental seal of approval. Cost: € 575,000.00.
