The Schöntalspitze ( 3002 m above sea level , according to other information 3008 m above sea level ) is a summit in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol , which rises up as an outpost in the northeast ridge of the pit wall . A good one kilometer to the north lies the Zischgeles , which is roughly the same height and with which the Schöntalspitze is also connected by a ridge. West of the summit building lies with the Zischgelesferner a smaller glacier , but the Schöntalspitze itself is a pure Felsberg.
The easiest, marked ascent leads from the south from the Westfalenhaus over the Zischgenscharte ( 2917 m ), which is not far from the summit to the west. The very short ascent from the notch to the summit has a few climbing spots, which are, however, insured. From the Westfalenhaus 2½ hours are estimated on this way. From the north a path leads from St. Sigmund through the Gleirschtal and over the largely melted Zischgelesferner to the saddle. In winter, however , the Schöntalspitze is much more frequently climbed as a ski tour from Lüsens via the Schöntal and the north-eastern flank.
