The Gleirschtal is an 8 km long side valley of the Sellraintal in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol .
The Gleirschtal branches off to the south near St. Sigmund im Sellrain ( 1513 m above sea level ). In the east, a ridge that extends from Freihut ( 2625 m ) via Sömen ( 2516 m ), Lampsenspitze ( 2876 m ), Zischgeles ( 3004 m ), and Schöntalspitze ( 3003 m ) to Gleirscher Fernerkogel ( 3189 m ) separates the Gleirschtal from Lüsenstal . In the west, a ridge leads from the Mutenkogel ( 2420 m ), over Haldenspitze ( 2975 m ), Rotgrubenspitze ( 3042 m ), Zwieselbacher ( 3061 m ), Vordere ( 3156 m ) and Hintere Sonnenwand ( 3106 m ) to the Gleirscher Fernerkogel and borders the valley to the Kraspestal branching off from Sellrain or the Zwieselbachtal as an extension of the Horlach valley. There is a transition into the Zwieselbachtal via the Gleirschjöchl ( 2751 m ).
The valley is traversed by the Gleirschbach , which rises from the Gleirscher Ferner at the head of the valley and flows into the Zirmbach in St. Sigmund .
The Gleirschtal is not populated, the Gleirschalm ( 1666 m ) and the Pforzheimer hut ( 2310 m ) can be found on buildings . Above the Gleirschalm, the valley is part of the Stubai Alps quiet area.
