The Trucks and Bus Company , or TBCo and T&BC for short , was a joint venture founded in 1976 between the Italian Industrial Vehicles Corporation and the Libyan State Secretariat for Industry and Natural Resources . The company's headquarters were in Tagiura . The manufacturer operated another plant in the state capital Tripoli .

Initially started as a simple fitter for local market needs, the company developed into one of Iveco's largest suppliers. Most recently, the manufacturer supplied the assembly plants in Spain , Portugal , Tunisia , Algeria and Egypt with chassis and a large number of other vehicle parts.

After the fall of the Gaddafi regime in the course of the Libyan civil war , the company temporarily ceased operations in late 2011. After investigations into allegations of corruption by the newly appointed transitional government, reconstruction was initiated. Work resumed in February 2013.
