Troop strength

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under troop strength (also: Manpower ) refers to the number of soldiers inside a military unit in the armed forces .

For example, the troop strength of the Bundeswehr (Germany) is around 178,000 soldiers (as of November 30, 2015).

Often the target troop strength and the actual troop strength differ considerably, in times of war mostly because of non-replenishing losses, in times of peace often for reasons of savings.

In Europe , especially in Germany, the army’s target troop strength is also continuously being reduced, mostly for cost reasons.

The number of troops in Germany has increased to a maximum of 370,000 men (including a maximum of 345,000 soldiers from the land and air forces ) through the Two-Plus-Four Treaty (Article 3, Paragraph 2), which was signed on September 12, 1990 ) limited.
