Czech AIDS Aid Society

The Czech AIDS Aid Society ( Česká Společnost AIDS Pomoc in Czech ) is a counseling and information facility for people affected by and interested in HIV / AIDS, based in Prague Karlín . It was founded in 1989 as a self-help association by friends and relatives of those affected and in the first few years was dedicated to prevention and education about the disease. After staff transfers, extensive professionalization and the inclusion of people living with HIV, the company moved into the “House of Light” (Dům světla) on August 11, 1999 as the new central place of activity. The following services are offered there:

  • free and anonymous HIV antibody test
  • HIV certificates for travel abroad
  • Assisted living community for people with HIV
  • various therapy options
  • Information workshops for school groups
  • Dissemination of various information materials

The current president of the facility is MUDr. Ivo Procházka.
