The Czech chicken is a domestic chicken breed that has been bred in the Czech Republic for a long time . The first mention goes back to the year 1205, when the Bohemian princess Dagmar of Bohemia , wife of the Danish king Waldemar II , brought a flock of Bohemian chickens to her new home as a trousseau. The breed provides the owner with both eggs and meat.

Dwarf form

The Czech chicken also exists as a dwarf form with the same color variations as the normal form. The rooster weighs 0.9–1.2 kg and the hen 0.7–1 kg. The laying capacity is 100–120 eggs per year. The eggs weigh 40 grams and are creamy-yellow to light brown in color.
