Chernobyl Forum
The Chernobyl Forum (English Chernobyl Forum ) is a working group under the umbrella of the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA ). It was founded at a meeting from February 3rd to 5th, 2003 in Vienna. The objective of the forum is the scientific analysis of the consequences of the Chernobyl reactor accident on the environment and health.
In addition to the IAEA, members of the forum are:
- four subsidiary bodies of the United Nations (the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Nuclear Radiation ( UNSCEAR )),
- three autonomous organizations that are linked to the UN by treaties (the World Bank , the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations FAO),
- the governments of Belarus , Russia and Ukraine .
Two more meetings of the forum took place after it was founded:
- 10-11 March 2004 in Vienna
- 18.-20. April 2005 in Vienna
