The Chkalov Island ( Russian Остров Чкалова , until 1936: Island Udd , Остров Удд) is an island in Russia .

It is located in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk, northwest of Sakhalin Island and belongs to the Khabarovsk region .

In July 1936, the Soviet pilots Valeri Tschkalow , Georgi Baidukow and Alexander Belyakov flew in a 56-hour record non-stop flight with a Tupolev ANT-25 from Moscow to this island.
