The TuWas - Foundation for Community Spirit is a foundation under civil law with legal capacity , established in Berlin in 2013, which acts as a support foundation of the party-affiliated Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung e. V. understands.
Foundation purpose
The purpose of the foundation is to promote education and student aid, the democratic state, environmental protection, international attitudes and understanding between peoples, art and culture, science and research, development cooperation, equality between women and men and civic engagement in favor of the the aforesaid charitable purposes. The aims of the Heinrich Böll Foundation are to be supported on a permanent basis through donations, gifts, bequests or wills donations as well as endowments.
history
The foundation was established on the initiative of members of the Friends of the Heinrich Böll Foundation as a support foundation for the Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBS). The basic idea is to enable the permanent, worldwide promotion of basic green values such as ecology, sustainability, democracy, human rights and gender democracy beyond the political education work of the HBS, which is exclusively financed by donations.
In this way, the advantages of a non-profit foundation can be used for the work of the HBS. As with other party-affiliated foundations, it is now possible to permanently support the work of the HBS through donations .

The foundation has a four-person board and an advisory board. The chairman of the board is Birgit Laubach , who was managing director of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung e. V. was.
Capital stock and investment criteria
In 2013 the foundation had a capital stock of around 80,000 euros. The foundation capital is invested according to ethical, social and ecological criteria.
