Jürgen Gneiting

Jürgen Gneiting (* 1958 in Stuttgart) is President of the Stuttgart Labor Court and Judge at the Constitutional Court for the State of Baden-Württemberg .

Life

Gneiting first studied social work at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences . After graduating in 1982, he worked as a drug advisor in Stuttgart for more than three years . Then studied Gneiting with a grant from the Evangelical Student Union at the University of Tübingen Law . In 1993 he became a judge at the Stuttgart Labor Court . From 1996 to 1999 he was a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court . Gneiting then returned to the Stuttgart Labor Court until he became director of the Karlsruhe Labor Court in 2006 . In 2009 he became the presiding judge at the Baden-Württemberg State Labor Court and has been President of the Stuttgart Labor Court since 2012.

On May 24, 2012, the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg elected Gneiting with 115 votes against three and six abstentions as a member of the State Court of Justice for the state of Baden-Württemberg. His term of office - the court was renamed from State Court to Constitutional Court in December 2015 - ends in July 2021.

From 1985 to 1987 Gneiting was spokesman for the board of the Baden-Württemberg State Association of the Greens , and from 2004 to 2008 chairman of the supervisory board of the Heinrich Böll Foundation .
