Tua train station

Tua is a village (pt: Aldeia ) in the municipality of Castanheiro in the Carrazeda de Ansiães district in Portugal with 110 inhabitants (as of 2001) and belongs to the Bragança district . The place Tua is located at the confluence of the river Tua in the river Douro .

Attractions

Tua Train Station was built in 1883 and is located on the Linha do Douro . It was also the starting point of the Linha do Tua , the last railway line in Portugal, which was operated with steam locomotives. On August 22, 2008, a serious railway accident occurred on Linha do Tua. Since then, rail traffic on this route has been suspended for safety reasons until the causes have been finally clarified.
