The Tuisi Garden ( Chinese  退 思 园 , Pinyin Tuìsī yuán  - "Garden of deep reflection") in Tongli , Wujiang , Jiangsu Province , China, is a well-known example of garden art in China . The gardens, built in the Qing period , served as a private residence for Ren Lansheng 任兰生 , a senior retired civil servant from Tongli, and shows the typical horticultural style of southern China. In 2000, the Tuisi Garden became part of the serial UNESCO World Heritage Site Classical Gardens of Suzhou . The garden has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-284) since 2001 .
