Tuk Tuk Forwarder

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tuk Tuk Forwarder Co., Ltd. ( TTF for short ) is a manufacturer of auto rickshaws based in Bangkok ( Thailand ). In some sources, the spelling Forwerder is also used (this was not even uniform on their own website).

history

The company was founded in 1987 under the name Pholasith . Another source mentions the year 1993.

Even before production started in 1996, the first two electric rickshaws were presented in 1994. The initial capacity was 12,000 units. According to the company, TTF was only founded in 2000 with two production facilities and a capacity of 16,000 vehicles. The name was changed to Tuk Tuk Forwarder in 2002.

The company's website has not been accessible since 2016.

Models

Autorickshaws were produced in a variety of designs: 3-seater, 6/8 seater and pick-ups.

Instead of the often common two-stroke engine, TTF used a four-stroke engine with a displacement of 550 cm³. This engine with an output of 30 HP could be operated with petrol, natural gas or liquid gas. In contrast, the rear axle with a rigid axle and leaf springs was designed more simply than that of the competition. From 2002 a version with a fuel cell was also produced.
