history

Turmix was founded as Techag AG in 1933 by Traugott Oertli. The name Turmix was derived from the French word "tourner" for turning and mixing. Turmix is one of the first Swiss companies that was able to make a name for itself in the field of electrical household appliances and is still one of the market leaders today.

After the invention of the Turmix Original Mixer i in 1943 and a then new type of juice centrifuge in the 1950s, Turmix developed the first espresso machine for the household in 1974 and a coffee machine for the Nespresso coffee capsule system for Nestlé in 1986 .

In addition to coffee machines, the product portfolio also includes electrical kitchen appliances such as hand mixers, stand mixers, stand kitchen machines, steamers and humidifiers .

In 1990 the brand was acquired by Diethelm & Co. Since April 1, 2006, Turmix and the two Swiss brands for the household sector KOENIG and ZYLISS have been run under one roof and management as DKB Household AG in Europe. At the same time, Turmix AG was merged with what was then Koenig Apparate AG (today DKB Household Switzerland AG ) and the public limited company was dissolved. Since then, Turmix has been continued as an independent brand within DKB.
