Twang (voice)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Twang is a singing technique that is used to vary the vocal timbre . The narrowing of the epiglottic fold (the tongue and the larynx are at the top and the epiglottis slightly tightened) creates a vocal color that is mainly used in musicals. The narrowing of the larynx funnel in Twangen makes the sound of the voice clearer and less throaty and increases the volume of the voice. When singing, the twang is basically necessary in order to be able to use the voice as correctly as possible. Twangen also simplifies singing. Clear differences between normal singing and twang are not clearly audible for many.
