Twifo-Praso (also Twifo Praso or Twifu Praso ) is a town in the Central Region in the West African state of Ghana .

With a population of approx. 3000 people, the settlement structure is basically more of a village character. The Twifo-Praso Secondary School is of great importance to the entire district as an educational institution for higher education. This city is the capital of the 1,298 square kilometer Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District . Twifo-Praso is located on the Pra River , one of the most important watercourses in Ghana. This city is about 70 km north of the capital of the Central Region Cape Coast about an hour's drive away.

In the immediate vicinity of Twifo-Praso there is an important railway bridge that leads over the Pra. The railway line and thus also Twifo-Praso were important trading points in Ghana in the past. The railway line through Twifo-Praso runs from Kumasi to Sekondi . This railway line was the first in Ghana and was built by the British colonial rulers. The area around Twifo-Praso is still cultivated with large palm oil plantations, which are also an important employer for the population.

Due to the ever better supply of electricity and water as well as various other infrastructure projects such as the Internet and telephone connections, Twifo-Praso is becoming more and more small-town. A project to set up a public library in Twifo-Praso is currently underway.
