The Two Step Moraine ( English for two-step moraine ) is an approximately 250 by 250 m large area of fine moraine rubble on the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . They are at the foot of the Two Step Cliffs . Special features of this area are the moist subsoil, two ponds on it and the abundance of mosses , algae and cyanobacteria .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1993 based on the cliffs of the same name.
