Ty England

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ty England (* 5. December 1963 as Gary Tyrone England in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma ) is an American country singer, who began his career as a sideman by Garth Brooks.

Live and act

Ty England came into contact with country music at an early age through his grandfather. His favorites were Roy Acuff, Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell. At Oklahoma State College, he made friends with like-minded, then completely unknown Garth Brooks . For a while the two were even roommates. They often performed together in clubs in the vicinity.

After being signed to the Capitol label in 1988, Brooks hired his old friend to play the guitar in his backing band. Ty England stayed with the country music superstar for six years. He became an important part of the stage show. In 1995 he started his solo career. Garth Fundis signed him for RCA. His first single, Should've Asked Her Faster , made it to number three on the country charts. Two successful albums were released that were of recognized high musical quality. In 1999 he moved to the Capitol label, where the Garth Brooks-produced album Highways And Dance Halls was recorded a year later .
