Tyle from Frankenberg
Tyle von Frankenberg (* Frankenberg (Eder) ) was a German Gothic stone sculptor and builder of the 14th century .
Around 1350 he made changes to the Liebfrauenkirche in Frankenberg. In the last third of the 14th century, the nave of the Marienkirche in Marburg was built under the direction of Tyle von Frankenberg. From 1370 to 1380 he created his main work, the Gothic Lady Chapel of the Church of Our Lady in Frankenberg, for which he created numerous sandstone figures of saints; these were partially destroyed during the iconoclasm of 1606. Around 1374 he designed a Gothic jewelry portal for the town church of St. Marien in Homberg (Efze) .
Due to the stylistic similarity, Tyle von Frankenberg is also credited with redesigning Hermannstein Castle in Wetzlar.
