The Type 70 SPA is a Chinese rocket launcher .
history
The Chinese developed the Type 70 rocket launcher in the 1950s. The chassis was the YW 531 troop transport . The relatively small vehicle was created under the impression of the Soviet Katyusha used successfully in World War II . Further versions were designed. A 4 × 4 truck was produced with the same launcher, as well as a dismountable and non-drivable variant for use in airborne divisions.
The vehicle is amphibious and, with a trench crossing ability of 2 m, very off-road.
Countries of operation
People's Republic of China , Afghanistan through the Mujahideen , Iran , through the PLO against Israel and Vietnam .
The rocket
The missile is a 130 mm or 107 mm missile . It is driven by a solid motor. A highly explosive fragmentation warhead is used. The maximum range is 10,115 m. The flight speed of the rocket is 436 m / sec. Their weight is 14.37 kg. But a newer missile was also developed that already has a range of 15,000 m.
